The Fort Worth Mega Center is the city's big, purpose-built driver license office, on the east side at 8301 Brentwood Stair Road. DPS opened it in 2013 as a high-volume center: 24,000 square feet, 22 customer-service stations, and capacity for more than 700 transactions a day. You'll find it just off Interstate 30 at Eastchase Parkway, on the east side near Loop 820, fronting Brentwood Stair Road. There's an on-site parking lot with accessible spaces, but no confirmed bus stop at the door, so plan to drive.
Here's the part worth knowing before you book: the appointment itself takes patience. Demand across the DFW Mega Centers is the heaviest in the state, and Fort Worth is no exception — the availability panel on this page shows how far out dates are running today. Walk-in is a gamble. The office runs on appointments, with only a limited number of same-day 'get in line' spots that fill fast, so don't count on showing up without one. The upside: Mega Centers like this one are built for volume, and visitors often report it moves people efficiently once the line is flowing.
The thing that makes or breaks your visit is check-in. Check in online the morning of your appointment, then arrive a few minutes early. Visitors do sometimes report waiting past their appointment time when it's busy, so build in a little buffer. It does not handle vehicle registration or titles; that's the Tarrant County tax office. And if the next date here is further out than you'd like, the Hurst driver license office, a short drive northeast, is often overlooked and can clear faster.

You generally must come in for a first-time Texas license, a REAL ID upgrade, or when your identity documents need to be verified in person.
